Orange Grove Fostercare - Part of the Hillcrest Family

East Yorkshire

Good with Outstanding Features

Orange Grove East Yorkshire regional office are delighted  to announce that following their recent full re-inspection Ofsted awarded an overall rating of GOOD with ratings of OUTSTANDING for ‘Enjoy and Achieve’ and ‘Achieving Economic Well Being’.  The inspection report remarked:
“Young people receive good quality child focused care with some outstanding outcomes”
“Young people’s safety, welfare and development is actively promoted”
As an agency we are extremely pleased with this inspection.  The staff team and foster families have worked incredibly hard over the last year to achieve this.  A Huge thank you to all.
The inspection report noted comments from carers, young people and stakeholders including:
“Young people confirm that they feel safe and part of the family”
“For their excellent support I would recommend Orange Grove to anyone considering fostering”
As an agency we have made great strides by introducing a new set of Policies and Procedural Guidelines and our more robust quality monitoring system has all contributed to this “GOOD” inspection.

On Wednesday 20th July 2011 the East Yorkshire team attended the annual Driffield Show.  This regional event attracts visitors from across the county and beyond with a wide range of stands, exhibitions and  livestock and equine demonstrations.

The threat of rain did not deter us and so we donned our wellies and rain coats. The new Orange Grove gazebo was a saviour as the heavens opened and remained opened for most of the day!! Reports from elsewhere in the county seemed to indicate we were sat under a black rain most of the day and by 6pm the show ground resembled something akin to Glastonbury!

The stand with its splendid, colourful gazebo attracted a range of people interested in the fostering task and the team were happy to talk to them about the rewards and demands of fostering.  Many of the people who visited the stand were looking at it as a career change and were eager to pursue fostering for this, others had previously been carers in other areas and were exploring returning to fostering and Orange Grove Fostercare had been highly recommended to them.

So despite it being so wet, we look forward to hearing from those people who took some of our promotional material away with them to consider…and a huge Thank you to Alastair for the Gazebo! May we book it for next year too??

Sophie, Social Worker at the East Yorkshire Team, has at long last given birth to a healthy baby boy yesterday at 8.07 am weighing in at 7lbs 7oz.

Everyone here, both team and carers, want to wish M A S S I V E congratulations to Sophie and her family and we cant wait to see baby Parker.
