Couple sittingOrange Grove Fostercare was founded because we wanted to provide our Foster Carers with a support service second to none and to work in close partnership with them.

We acknowledge from research and from our wealth of experience that the quality, availability, and consistency of support has a direct bearing on successful outcomes in foster care.

We regularly review the support systems provided to our carers and as we grow, the greater the number of attractive fringe benefits we are able to provide. Successful applicants can look forward to the following:

  1. A minimum of 12 supervision visits by a local Social Worker
  2. Additional support visits on a needs-led basis by our approved Social Workers or Family Support Workers
  3. Minimum of 1 unannounced visit per annum
  4. 1 independently-led annual review per annum
  5. Psychological support on a needs-led basis plus additional support groups/surgeries as required
  6. Out of hours 365/24/7 on-call support service by local social work staff
  7. 14 nights of respite
  8. Retainer payments (subject to qualifying criteria)
  9. Monthly carer support meeting
  10. The agency will endeavour, with the help and support of carers, to ensure that all carers have a Schedule 3 Respite Carer in place
  11. A published programme of regular training
  12. Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (Fostering)/Management of Aggression with regular follow-up training
  13. Birthday, Festival and Holiday allowances at The Fostering Network rates
  14. Target of 4 regional activities per office for carers and children, e.g. Pantomime, Theme Parks, BBQs, etc
  15. Weekend break for birth children
  16. Independent Children’s Helpline for foster children and birth children
  17. Independent allegation support service
  18. Social Worker attendance at all meetings, conferences, reviews, etc
  19. Educational support
  20. Annual carer conference.
