Hillcrest Care, a leading provider of Children’s services, EBD schools and foster care has acquired The Orange Grove Foster Care Agency for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition makes Hillcrest a significant provider of foster care services with over 260 children placed. Chairman Barry Sampson said:
“Orange Grove was a natural match for Hillcrest. We are both privately owned companies which are run on very child-focused lines. The Orange Grove, like Hillcrest, offers a high quality service and has an excellent reputation with those Local Authorities which use their services. They also operate in areas of the country which complement our own. We now have a truly countrywide service stretching from Yorkshire down to the south coast and from Wales to Essex. We expect a seamless transition as the two services are run along very local lines and our staff will remain focused on their day to day work.”
Chairman of The Orange Grove, Granville Orange, who will remain with the business on a part-time basis said:
“I strongly believe that this sale will afford tremendous new opportunities. Having had an excellent 11 year history, we look forward to meeting the needs of greater numbers of children and young people in need of the excellent care that we provide.”
MD of Hillcrest, Richard Greenwell, added:
“I am very pleased at this latest acquisition for Hillcrest. We have worked very hard at building a childcare organisation which has a reputation for placing children at the centre of everything we do. The Orange Grove is a company which has a similar ethos. I look forward to working with The Orange Grove.”
