Information for Carers

INTRODUCTION

Many thanks for your interest in our work, which we very much appreciate. We are always pleased to hear from persons who are interested in joining our agency, and in particular from experienced foster carers.

If you want to be involved in an expanding established agency, treated as a colleague, valued, supported, and appropriately rewarded, then we are interested in hearing from you.

If having read this information for prospective Orange Grove carers, you wish to take your interest in joining us a step further, then please do not hesitate to get in touch using any of the methods detailed on our 'Contact Us' page. We shall arrange to make an informal visit to meet with you. Alternatively, should you have any specific questions you would like answered, give us a call. We shall be pleased to hear from you and will be happy to answer any queries you may have.

The Orange Grove was established in 1996 as an independent fostering agency in order to provide a range of excellent foster home placements to children accommodated by local authorities, and to provide an extensive support service to our foster carers in the knowledge that support has a direct bearing on successful outcomes.

Similarly, we value greatly the carers we have working with us, and this is reflected in part by offering competitive fostering fees in the acknowledgment that caring for children in care demands a tremendous commitment and should be properly rewarded.

This formula for success has resulted in carers wishing to join our agency often in greater numbers than we can assess at any one time. Consequently we have defined our area of operation for the moment to the following six geographical regions:

  • East Yorkshire
  • West Yorkshire
  • Shropshire
  • North West
  • Three Counties
  • Three Shires

Whilst children may be referred from anywhere in the country, for practicable reasons relating to the extensive support that we offer our carers, we regret that at the moment we can only consider applications from prospective foster carers living within any of the above six defined areas.

We are proud to announce that we are now working with northerncare.

This brief guide to our services offers basic information, but cannot hope to answer all your questions. Please do contact us; we shall be pleased to hear from you and assist with providing additional information about The Orange Grove.
