New Blog a great success

The Orange Grove Blog is now fully operational and news stories will be appearing from around the country on a regular basis. To keep up with the latest news from the offices go to the news headings on this page or click here.

Lots of summer activity

Offices throughout Orange Grove have been buzzing with activity during the summer months. Every region has been running ‘Skills to Foster’ courses for new Foster Carers and the new Blog has given every location an opportunity to post news about their particular activities.

The two new offices in Lewisham and Crawley are now fully operational and the 'official opening' dates set. The first official opening took place on Monday 9th August at the Crawley office.

Have you seen the latest campaign by the Fostering Network?

Together for Change is the Fostering Network’s new long-term campaign to make sure that every child who needs to can live with a foster family that will value them, listen to them, look after them for as long as they need and help them to achieve their potential. Foster carers need to be empowered to deliver the best possible care and enabled to focus on the job they do without worrying about lack of support or financial difficulties.

Cost of foster care early day motion

After the release of the update to the Cost of Foster Care report, we are hoping for your help in encouraging MPs to sign Early Day Motion (EDM) 270 which states:

That this House welcomes the Fostering Network’s report, The Cost of Foster Care, on the cost of the foster care service; notes that the total number of children in foster care is rising year on year; supports the Fostering Network’s Together for Change campaign to provide foster carers with improved status, training and support; and urges the government to give funding for children in care the highest possible priority when considering future spending commitments.

So far over 40 MPs have signed the motion. You can check if your local MP has signed it on the UK Parliament website. If they haven't, please urge them to support it by using our template letter.

If you are interested in becoming a Foster Carer call us today on 08450 545088, contact us by email or apply on-line. We look forward to hearing from you
